Consistent with his pledge made moments after his inauguration, it appears President Donald Trump is indeed a man of his word. And, so goes forth an era with fewer constraints on the oil & gas industry - much to the disappointment of opposing environmentalists.
At the outset, this is a major move forward, offering freedom to expand infrastructure as well as easing transportation bottlenecks.
Change in Administration
This is in stark contrast to initiatives put in place by the Obama administration who had rejected Transcanada Corp's Keystone XL oil pipeline in November 2015, succumbing to environmentalists who were engaged in a campaign against the project for more than seven years.
"The regulatory process in this country has become a tangled-up mess and very unfair to people. ... That's a big one." Trump said.
Impact on Jobs
Trump told reporters earlier today in the Oval Office "We are going to renegotiate some of the terms...we will build our own pipelines we will build our own pipes."
Trump also signed executive actions outlining that these pipelines should be built in the US where, creating plentiful construction and related industry work. "We'll put a lot of workers back to work," the president said.
Fox news reported that the total number of jobs created might be in the 28,000 range.
