Site C is the third dam and generating station being constructed on the Peace River in north-eastern British Columbia.

The project is designed to provide 1,100-megawatts of capacity with around 5,100-gigawatt hours of energy each year in the province.

At the end of 2014, Site C received approval from the provincial government to begin construction.

Since then, this lucrative project has created a significant amount of jobs and will continue to provide employment until the project’s completion and beyond!

How Many Jobs Will Site C Create?

In February of 2018, employment statistics report that there are over 2,000 workers on the Site C project with a projection that the site will create approximately 13,000 direct employment opportunities.

Once built, Site C will provide reliable, clean, and affordable electricity in British Columbia for more than 100 years.

Is the Site C Still Being Built?

The construction project started in the summer of 2015 with plans to have the first generators operational in 2024 and the entire project completed by 2025.
