Imperial Oil released a statement on Thursday indicating that 12 individuals at their Kearl Lake facility have tested positive for COVID-19.
Two are in quarantine at the site, while the other 10 had left before testing positive.
They currently aren’t releasing the location of these individuals.

“We have completed contact tracing for all of these individuals and have asked additional members of our workforce to self-isolate while further testing is underway,” said the company’s statement.
“We are committed to safeguarding the safety and health of our workforce and we are in contact with those who have tested positive to ensure they are supported. ”
Imperial says they remain in contact with Alberta Health Services.
"I would like to stress to Albertans that everything that needs to be done to keep people safe in Kearl and other camps, and food processing facilities like Cargill, is being done," Dr. Deena Hinshaw, the province's chief medical officer of health said.

The Kearl Lake facility, about 70 kilometres north of Fort McMurray, is jointly owned by Imperial and ExxonMobil Canada.
