A year ago, oilfield services company Halliburton said it aimed to hire 200 workers for product service lines and support functions in the booming Permian Basin in southeastern New Mexico. Now officials with the Houston-based oil giant say they are also hiring workers in the state's Four Corners region.

"We’ve recently hired for more than 70 positions and are currently hiring oil and gas service operators, supervisors and mechanical/electrical technicians," Halliburton spokeswoman Emily Mir told local news outlet the Albuquerque Business First.

"Halliburton has recently hired employees ... in the northwest New Mexico, southern Colorado and southeast Utah area. Our employees are based in Farmington, New Mexico, but the nature of the operations we support require a mobile workforce," Mir said.
