Chesapeake Energy said earlier today that a second of 4 oilfield workers has died from injuries suffered in a explosion at a Caldwell Texas drilling site.
Chesapeake spokesman Gordon Pennoyer said in an email that all four were contractors working at a Chesapeake Energy well site on a county road near Deanville, Texas, 28 miles southwest of Bryan, when flames erupted from the wellhead approx 3:30 p.m
According to reports, the worker was being treated for burns suffered on Wednesday after natural gas leaked from a well near Deanville, Texas, and exploded.
Two other employees remain hospitalized, Chesapeake, the owner of the well, said on Friday.
Employees of Alice, Texas-based Forbes Energy Services and Eagle were among 11 people working at the well when it exploded, the state’s oil and gas regulator said on Friday.
While the name of the first victim has been released by the families attorney, the names of the second fatal victim or the two injured workers were not released.
